About Mia Northrop

Mia studied Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT University and is an active member of Writers Victoria. She is a recovering user experience designer, and her articles have appeared in digital industry publications such as Boxes & Arrows and UX Matters. She was born in Jamaica, raised in Perth, studied in Vancouver, worked in London and New York and lives with her young family in Melbourne, where she spearheaded the Vindaloo Against Violence anti-racism initiative. She writes children’s picture books, essays, short stories and novels.
